We sat down with Monique to ask her all about her journey in the foodservice industry, her experiences at Avondale, her passion for staying up-to-date with industry developments, and how her skills and knowledge will contribute to her role as an Account Success Specialist with Tarrison. Q1: Can you please provide an overview of yourself, and your background and experience in the foodservice industry? What roles have you held, and what specific areas of foodservice have you been involved in?

Monique: I am an outgoing and hardworking professional who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and being honest with clients. I have a diverse background in the foodservice industry, having worked in various roles such as management in fast-food establishments, bartending, serving, and line cooking. This experience has given me a unique perspective, as I understand both sides of the industry and know what truly matters to our clients.

Q2: What initially attracted you to the foodservice industry, and how has your passion for this field grown over time?

Monique: When I was a high school student looking for part-time work, I found a flexible job in the foodservice industry to make some extra cash. However, as I got more involved, I fell in love with the industry and the incredible people I’ve met along the way. It became my passion, and I genuinely enjoy what I do.

Q3: During your tenure at Avondale, what did you learn about the foodservice industry that stood out to you the most? Were there any significant trends or developments that caught your attention?

Monique: My time at Avondale was a learning experience filled with valuable insights. One aspect that stood out to me the most was understanding the importance of matching the right equipment with the clients’ specific needs. I gained knowledge about various types of foodservice equipment, from cooking equipment like ranges, hoods, and fryers to innovative tools like combi ovens and rapid cook ovens. The industry is constantly evolving, and staying up-to-date with trends and developments is crucial.

Q4: Foodservice equipment plays a crucial role in the efficiency and success of any operation. Can you talk about the types of foodservice equipment you worked with at Avondale? Which equipment did you find particularly interesting or innovative?

Monique: At Avondale, I had the opportunity to work with a wide range of foodservice equipment, from the essential cooking equipment like ranges and fryers to more specialized items like combi ovens and rapid cook ovens. What intrigued me the most was the comprehensive approach we took to serve clients, providing everything from exhaust hoods to cutlery for their tables. The ability to outfit an entire restaurant from front to back was both fascinating and rewarding.

Q5: In your experience, what are the most critical factors to consider when selecting foodservice equipment for a particular establishment or project?

Monique: Selecting the right foodservice equipment involves careful consideration of several crucial factors. First and foremost, understanding the client’s space and menu is essential. It’s crucial to ensure that the equipment purchased aligns with their specific needs and the results they want to achieve with their menu. Additionally, maximizing the use of available space and incorporating efficient storage solutions play a significant role in making the operation successful.

Q6: Flexibility and adaptability are essential qualities in the foodservice industry, as client preferences and trends can change rapidly. How do you stay up-to-date with industry developments and continuously improve your skills and knowledge?

Monique: Staying up-to-date with industry developments is a priority for me. I consistently immerse myself in professional development by attending Tarrisonā€™s bi-weekly Product Knowledge sessions and taking advantage of any available training opportunities. Moreover, I make it a point to be on-site with clients, attend demos, and actively engage with them to gain real-world insights. This proactive approach allows me to continuously improve my skills and knowledge and remain current with industry trends.

Q7: How do you believe your previous experiences will contribute to your role as an Account Success Specialist with Tarrison?

Monique: My previous experiences have equipped me with several qualities that I believe will greatly contribute to my role as an Account Success Specialist with Tarrison. Firstly, my strong customer service skills and sales abilities will help in building positive relationships with clients. Additionally, I already have existing relationships with dealers, which will facilitate seamless communication and collaboration. My knowledge of products and the foodservice industry, which I have gained over the years, will enable me to offer valuable insights and support to our clients. Lastly, coming from the dealer side, I have a unique perspective into the needs and expectations of both dealers and their clients, making me well-suited to excel in a team-oriented environment like Tarrison.
